Carboxytherapy
Carboxytherapy is the new, simple and proven technique that can dramatically improve the appearance of cellulite by improving local tissue metabolism and perfusion. Treatments are rapid, comfortable and effective for a high percentage of patients.
Carboxytherapy Treatments
Face, neck & décolleté
With Carboxytherapy it is possible to treat the face and décolleté, obtaining a brighter, smoother and toned skin, with a lifting effect on neck and décolleté. Also tightening the skin on the décolleté in order to lift the breasts slightly. Contouring and reducing stubborn fatty deposits on the body,

cycle, the aesthetic results are apparent. Recent and post-partum red stretch marks and scars have shown excellent results after a few sessions of Carboxytherapy. Older stretch marks and various scars, even if not completely removed, improve significantly.
How does the carbon dioxide work?
Carboxytherapy works in two complimentary ways. Firstly, and quite simply carbon dioxide mechanically kills fat cells. Secondly, it also has a strong vasodilatory effect (causes dilation of blood vessels) on the capillaries in the area. Wider vessels mean bigger and stronger blood flow to the area, which means more oxygen. The increase in oxygen is important because it eliminates the built up fluid from between the cells. The end result is fewer fat cells and firmer subcutaneous tissue.
Cellulite & Body Contouring
Disturbance of the microcirculation, tissue metabolism and the lymphatic drainage can cause the skin condition commonly called cellulite – ‘orange peel’ look, dimpled or bumpy appearance primarily around the thighs and buttock area. After Carboxytherapy, the capillaries are re-opened, the oxygen supply is increased and the metabolism, venous and lymphatic drainage are re-activated in the treated area. After a therapeutic cycle, the aesthetic results are apparent.
How is Carboxytherapy performed?
It is a non surgical method. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is infiltrated into the subcutaneous tissue through a tiny 30G needle (0.3mm in diameter). From the injection point, the carbon dioxide diffuses easily into adjacent tissues.
Therapeutic indication
- Aesthetic medicine (cellulite, skin laxity, localized adiposity and body-contouring, anti-ageing of the face, neck, décolleté, upper arm and hands, stretch marks, scars, dewlap)
- Dermatology (psoriasis)
- Plastic surgery (pre/post liposuction)
- Phlebology (venous and lymphatic insufficiency)
- Angiology (peripheral arteriopathy and microangiopathy, Raynaud syndrome, acrocyanosis)
Skin Laxity
The initial results are visible after only a few sessions – the colour, texture and quality is improved and the tone of the dermis is increased resulting in a firmer, revitalized appearance. The Carboxytherapy results on the circulatory system are not only functional -with lighter legs after the first session – but also aesthetic.
Stretch marks and scars
Recent and post-partum red stretch marks and scars have shown excellent results after a few sessions of Carboxytherapy. Older stretch marks and various scars, even if not completely removed, improve significantly.
Face, Neck and Décolleté
With Carboxytherapy it is possible to treat the face, neck and décolleté, obtaining a brighter, smoother and more toned skin, with a wonderful lifting effect. At the same time it is possible to re-contour these areas by treating unwanted fatty deposits in the cheeks, neck and under the chin.
Why Carboxytherapy works so well
Skin needs oxygen for optimum health and as we age it gets less oxygen, which inhibits regeneration, and slowly starts losing its elasticity and collagen.
Subcutaneous capillaries become dormant decreasing cells of oxygen. This combined with environmental stresses and other variables inhibits the ability of cells to regenerate and function properly. By the age 30 oxygen levels in your skin drop b y 25% and by age 40 they drop by 50%. The body naturally gets its oxygen through basic breathing, but factors like pollution reduce the levels. The body will first utilise oxygen in the mayor organs and lastly go to the skin. When the skin doesn’t get enough oxygen it becomes more prone to ageing, acne, redness, and irritation and age spots.
Carboxytherapy, the miracle gas, has been recommended the biggest beauty breakthrough since Botox. Carboxytherapy is rapidly becoming known as the leading skin rejuvenation treatment. It is safe, minimally invasive clinically proven method to rejuvenate, restore and recondition the skin and treat loose skin, crepe skin around the eyes and dark circles.
The treatment involves injecting tiny amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production. Carboxytherapy infuses CO2 just beneath the skin’s surface. When the body recognises the CO2 it automatically triggers a response by increasing oxygen-rich blood flow to that area as well as growth factors that will encourage production of new blood vessels. Increased oxygen improves circulation, which in turn stimulates collagen production and cell restoration.
Increased blood flow stimulates collagen, which will soften and reduce fine lines, wrinkles and more regular sheets of collagen laid down. A few months later dermal remodelling occurs with collagen contraction leading to a tightening effect.
This is a true winner that uses the body’s own natural function to regenerate the skin.
